Using Medical Tools to Create a More Masculine Facial Appearance
Many years ago, I used to do 11 operations ( most of them in local anaesthesy) to masculinize the face !
I would not any more do that nowadays as we have so many disponible non surgical tools or mini invasive ones to get even a better result .
Hairline Masculinization
Testosterone can lead to hair loss and perhaps baldness.
Many methods pretend to create fuller & thicker hair,to try to replicate hair follicles and hair strands, achieving a very natural looking appearance. Such procedures can be used where hair is receding, fine or thinning.
Among these non invasive methods, we can find PRP,HiFu,pigmentation stokes placed on to the dermal layer of the scalp and may be many others.
FOREHEAD MASCULINIZATION
In order to create a more masculine appearance to the eyes, we thicken the eyebrows, reduce definition and provide a much straighter shape, giving a more masculine perception to the eyes.
Ideal Feminine Forehead
-
Large, smooth forehead with some convexity
-
Arched eyebrow
-
Eyes that appear more open
-
Smaller lower-to-upper face ratio than in males
-
Obtuse naso-frontal angle
Ideal Masculine Forehead
-
Wider forehead
-
Overhanging, horizontal brow
-
Prominent supraorbital ridge
-
Minimal eyebrow arch
-
Deeper-set eyes, appearing closer together
-
More equal ratio of lower-to-upper face proportions
-
Acute naso-frontal angle
Which tools to use and how to use them for masculinize the upper third of the face
-
1. Hairlinemany non invasice methods have been proposed.
-
4.Acute naso frontal angle
Middle Face Masculinization
The male ocular area has a more rectangular shape
Removing definition on the upper lip & giving the lower lip more detail makes them appear more masculine.
IDEAL FEMININE MIDDLE FACE
IDEAL MASCULINE MIDDLE FACE
-
Smaller, narrow nose with upturning of the nasal tip
-
Eyes that appear more open
-
Prominent, full cheekbone
-
Full, vermilion lips
-
Obtuse naso-labial angle
-
Larger, wider nose
-
Deeper-set eyes, appearing closer together
-
Wider mouth, thinner lips
-
Squared jaw
-
Acute naso-labial angle
Which tools to use and how to use them to masculinize the middle face
-
Lower Eyelid : Some Endopeel injections only in case of absence of fat hernia can stretch the lower eyelid skin for a younger but not more masculine appearance
-
Nasal Pyramide : It can be higher by endopeel injections on the lateral walls of the nose and too in the pyramidal muscle
-
Nasal Tip : It can be lifted without muscles atrophy and paralysis or dangers of fillers using Endopeel injections .Also a peeling can be added to get a younger look.
-
Nasal Aisles : they can be narrowed in case of negroid or asian nose but need to be adapted to the rest of the face respecting good proportions.
-
Philtral Triangle : It should be deeper with the 2 lateral sides of the philtral triangle in adduction. This technique is easy with Endopeel Injections with a vector normal to the barycenter of the philtral triangle and another one doing an angle of 30 grades with the vertical at the intersection of the philtral bands.
-
Upper Lip : It should be thin vs the lower lip to keep a masculine appearance. In such case we dont recommend to fill it.WE can obtain an upper lip lifting without lip volumization with Endopeel Techniques.
-
Lower Lip : It can be volumized with better definition using fillers and/or an eversion can be obtained using Endopeel Techniques in the internal mucosae regarding the lower lip.
-
Naso Labial Angle : It can be acute using Endopeel Techniques
-
Bone Cheek : Cheekbones are more prominent for females. But their position can differ with the ethnical type . In such case , it s easy with the tensors marking using endopeel techniques, to know to which point you can increase the cheekbone. For males, we will choose bestens the 2 upper tensors of the naso labial furrow area with a direction which makes an angle with the horizontal inferior to 45 grades. personally I use 30 grades.
-
Rising branch of the mandible is easy when applying vertical tensors on the masseter area, more than 3 using Endopeel Techniques.
-
Mandibular Angle : It should be 90 grades, what is easy to do with the directions of the tensors using Endopeel techniques.
-
Naso Labial Furrow: I personally use from down to up tensors of 90, 90, less than 45 ( for ex 30) and 0 grades with the horizontal using endopeel techniques .
-
Widening the mouth : this technique is used to get a masculinization of the mouth as lips and it evens out the loss of the upper lip definition. This can be obtained using Endopeel techniques and in no way fillers .
Lower Face Masculinization
A very strong jawline and square chin are perceived to give a more masculine appearance.
IDEAL FEMININE LOWER FACE
IDEAL MASCULINE LOWER FACE
-
Heart-shaped taper in lower face
-
Smaller lower-to-upper face ratio than in males
-
Squared lower face and jaw
-
Long, square chin
-
More equal ratio of lower-to-upper face proportions
-
Beard or coarser texture to lower facial skin
Which tools to use and how to use them to masculinize the middle face
-
Squared lower face & Jaw : To achieve such shape, the best solution is to use endopeel techniques as we can adapt tensors to each case . The authors recommend when marking the tensors for the lower third of the face, to begin the 1 st ones from the middle line towards the tragus, to do 2-3 tensors parallel to the tragus facelift incision line and to finish with the last 2-3 tensors vertical parallel to a vertical line going through the nasal tip as the middle of the mouth.
-
Squared Chin : the authors propose to choose horizontal tensors going from the middle line of the chin towards the exterior, at the level of the mentonnier
