1993 Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Cagliari (Thesis: “The personality of the
psoriatic patient: research using questionnaires and psychometric tests”) receiving marks of 110/110
summa cum laude (First-Class Honours) with Special Mention from the Dean of Faculty.
1993 Qualification to practice the profession of Medical Surgeon receiving top marks (90/90) and
admission to the Order of Medical Surgeons of the Province of Cagliari.
1993-1997 Medical Health Associate at the Dermatological Clinic at the University of Cagliari, with
Ministerial grant.

pharmacovigilance centre”. This contract was renewed for a second and third two-year course, but

Fields of research
- Trials, clinical and epidemiological studies in centre-southern Sardinia concerning Tinea capitis, Bullous
Pemphigoid, Herpes Zoster, Gram Negatives intertrigo, Malerbe’s Epithelioma, Wells’ syndrome, Asher’s
syndrome, cutaneous vasculitis.
-Professional collaboration with the Clinica Psichiatrica - University of Cagliari for a research on the psychosomatic
aspects in dermatology, especially in Psoriasis.
- 2001-02 Direct participation to the epidemiologic research on HHV-8 infection in Italy, promoted by the Istituto
Superiore della Sanità and co-ordinated in Sardinia, from the Dermatology Clinic of Sassari University. Subsequent
studies on clinical morphological aspects of Kaposi’s sarcoma have been performed, whose results are argument of
a medical thesis and publications.
- From 1996 collaboration with the GISED (Gruppo Italiano Studi Clinici ed Epidemiologici) as monitor for the
cutaneous Adverse drug reactions. This activity led to the participation at several studies: European case control
study (EuroSCAR) for the evaluation of the drug-related risk; Observational study and intensive surveillance
program (REACT) co-ordinated from the Gruppo Italiano studi Epidemiologici in Dermatologia (GISED);
international registry of the severe cutaneous drug adverse reactions (RegiSCAR), which is supported by the
European Union.
- From 2000 to 2003 co-ordination and fulfilment in Sardinia of the Skin Cancer Day, national daily campaign for
the primary prevention of skin cancers, supported by SIDEV, ADOI e AIDA.
- 2001-2002 fulfilment of several campaigns of skin tumors prevention in the schools supported by AIDA (“Sole
buono… se ti proteggi”) and GISED (“Sole SI, Sole NO”).
Teaching Activity
o In the 1999-2000 academic year obtained a position with the Autonomous Region of Sardinia at the Centro
Regionale di Formazione Professionale di Tonara (Nuoro) - Regional Centre for Professional Training in
Tonara (Nuoro) – for 23 hours of teaching Dermatology included in the professional training syllabus of the
“beauticians” course for 1999.
o From 2006 up today dr. Atzori has been charged with the teaching of Venereology and Sexually Transmitted
Diseases to the Medicine and Surgery students of Cagliari University. She teaches several matters in the
different 4 years course of the Specialisation School of Dermatology and Venereology. She gives also
dermatology lessons to several other School of Specialisation, such as Infective diseases and short course
degree in Obstetrician and Gynaecology, Sanitary Assistant, Oral Assistant at the University of Cagliari.
More over she has draft the Degree Theses of 12 students graduating in Medicine and Surgery and of 10
associate students at the School of Specialisation in Dermatology and Venereology.

• From 1996 monitor of the Gruppo Italiano Studi Epidemiologici in Dermatologia (GISED), local responsible
of clinical-epidemiological trials, especially in the field of pharmaco-vigilance and primary prevention
campaign of skin tumors.
• 1999 member of a scientific committee, named (GISST), for the revision and management of the many aspects
of trichology, especially the study of androgenetic alopecia,
• From 1999 peer-reviewer of the “Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology”.
• From 1999 Editorial Board of “Dermatologia Ambulatoriale”, official journal of the Associazione Italiana
Dermatologi Ambulatoriali (AIDA).
